Hungary Delegation

On the 20th January 2026, UK Abraham Accords Group Chairman Sir Liam Fox and Policy Director Matthew Davies travelled to Budpest in January to meet British Ambassador Justin McKenzie Smith, State Secretary for Bilateral Relations Illes Boglarka, and to speak at a conference hosted by Ludovika University. The topic of Sir Liam's address was Europe's role in supporting President Trump's peace plan in Gaza, and building a more secure and prosperous future in the Middle East.

Sir Liam discussed events in Iran, Israel and elsewhere in the region. Meeting with Secretary Boglarka, Sir Liam continued the discussion of this theme, exploring ways for Britain and Hungary to work together towards this end. Sir Liam's meeting with Ambassador McKenzie Smith focused on the close ties between the United Kingdom and Hungary.
