UK Abraham Accords Group Chairman the Rt. Hon. Sir Liam Fox addresses the Middle East Association

Sir Liam's contribution to the MEA panel, on the topic of the striat of Hormuz,  focused on the calculaitons of policymakers in Wsahingotn ahead of midterm elections, plus the maleolanec of the Iranian regime who for deades have threatened neighbours with state terrorism and proxy forces. Sir Liam noted that Iran's hold over Hormuz appears to be weakening as crude exports from the Gulf have returned to 80-90% of pre-war levels. The US Navy's blockade of Iranian shipping also appears to be working, as Iran's oil exports have not recovered. The convoy system, created by the UAE and copied by Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, whereby tankers sail close to Oman and exchange oil from tanker-to-tanker, supported by the US Air Force, has helped oil exports almost recover.
